Madras button-down shirt by J.Press

 It's a button-down with a heritage to match anything out there, but the J.Press button-down madras shirt isn't that easy to buy. Unless you happen to be in its native USA.

It's a timeless ivy league classic and still fitting cutting a fine figure today, whether you go for the standard short-sleeve madras with button-down collar in its various shades, or if you go for one of the variations - long-sleeve, tartan, cotton twill etc.

The short sleeve sells for $79 online, which works out at just over £50 at today's rates. If you happen to be ni the US, it's a no-brainer. Sadly, J.Press do not sell outside of the US officially and mail order can prove expensive if you get hit with a customs bill on top of the shipping. Saying that, it's still likely to work out cheaper than booking a return flight to the US.
