60s Bow Shift Dress at Oasis

Offering up a more mainstream turn of the decade look is this 60s Shift Dress from Oasis, which is newly-available online.

The cut is more demure than later looks from the decade, with a knee-length hemline and high neck. The girlish additions of light pleating at the hips and a peter pan collar could veer into the dowdy, but avoid it here thanks to a daring shade of pillar box red.

Sehorn's Soul Farm CD reissue

I'll be honest, I don't recall an original, but according to Charly Records, Sehorn's Soul Farm is the reissue of a vinyl compilation first seen in 1982.

The reissue is a double CD, offering up the original 1982 release and a second volume that was released in 1986, both volumes offering the pick of 60s New Orleans soul and R&B reissued by the Sansu label. And just to bump up the 'value' quota, there's an additional 18 tracks not featured on the original vinyl comps.

Adidas Gazelle OG trainers in black

Another reissue of the Adidas Gazelle OG, this time in a back to basics black and white.

Keeping the same slim profile as the 1968 original, this latest reissue is in black with white detailing, as well as having a suede upper, contrast white hexagonal sole and gold metallic branding.

Steve McQueen at the BFI

Another month, another season at London's BFI - this time, focusing on Steve McQueen.

Titles range from his '60s classics like The Great Escape and Bullit through to McQueen's later character work, as in Papillon - al complete with trademark McQueen cool. The season runs throughout August, check out over the page for the full listing of what's on, including the season introduction - Steve McQueen: Hollywood Nonconformist, which is showing on August 3rd.
