Dexy's 30th anniversary event

Dex

On 17th Jully 2010, Dexy's Midnight Runners' classic Searching For The Young Soul Rebels album will be 30 years old - and an event to celebrate this fact will take place in Birmingham.

Original band members will be in conversation with Gavin Martin (Talking Musical Revolutions), along with Dexys photographer Mike Laye who will be displaying images from that period, and Anthony O'Shaughnessy, the man with the suitcase on the front cover of the album. His remarkable story will be told for the very first time.

Also on stage, reading a piece about Dexys especially written for the event, will be Paolo Hewitt and live music will be provided by Stone Foundation and 'very special guests'. The band will be performing songs which were inspired by Dexys debut album as well as selected covers.

Tickets are priced at £8  and available from a Facebook page for the event. The location is The Flapper, Kingston Row, Birmingham.
