Wilson Pickett - Funky Midnight Mover
Not just any old Wilson Pickett release, Funky Midnight Mover - The Studio Recordings (1962 - 1978) is pretty much the lot in a single box.
Described as the 1st comprehensive compilation of Pickett's Atlantic material, it includes all originally issued recordings for the label, early pre-Atlantic sides, his 1978 album for the Atlantic-distributed Big Tree imprint plus a CD of rare and previously unreleased recordings - 154 tracks in total. There's also a 92-page, linen-wrapped book with rare and unseen photos to top things off.
It's released by the Handmade section of Rhino and if you head to the website you can see the box in real detail ahead of purchasing. The price is $99.98 directly from there, not sure if it's available as yet in the UK - I've not seen it myself over here.
