Dictionary of Hipster Slang reissued

Hipster

We featured the original of this way back in 2006 on Retro To Go, since when a second editon has been and gone, leaving us with a 3rd edition of Straight From The Fridge, Dad by Max Decharne, the dictionary of hipster slang.

It's still the same concept - thousands of examples of hipster slang drawn from pulp novels, classic noir and exploitation films, blues, country and rock'n'roll lyrics and other trashy sources from the 1920s to the 1960s. Only now there's more of it - from bug spray to goof syrup, from lupara sickness to a juice jolt. Not only that, the increased size of the book means more trashy images - a ten-fold increase on the previous release, photos, book covers, musicians and hip characters of their day, they're all here and more.

It's available online now, priced at £14.44.
