The Monks album gets reissued

The Monks seminal 1966 album Black Monk Time is officially reissued next week.

The Monks were five beat playing American GIs stationed in Germany who, after their discharge, decided to stay and continue their musical mission. They ended up producing fuzz-drenched garage heaven. 

Light In The Attic Records is the company responsible for reissuing the album, along with another Monks CD, entitled The Early Years 1964-1965. Numerous period photographs and an extensive two-part essay by Canadian music journalist Kevin Howes accompany both releases. Bonus material dating back to pre-Monks Torquays and up to post Black Monk Time 45s are also included. The 36-page deluxe booklet features in-depth notes, interviews with the band, and lyrics.

Black Monk Time and The Early Years 1964-1965 are both out this Monday (April 20th), and available from Amazon here and here. Limited edition double vinyl LP versions of both albums are also available at the start of May and feature a band poster.
