Rare Mod compilation album

Rare_mod

Acid Jazz has a new compilation on the market at the end of the month featuring rare tracks from the British mod scene of the 1960s, titled Rare Mod.

The work of Richard Searle, the compilation features a pile of lesser-known or previously undiscovered tunes from the era, including obscure Brit soul (Truly Smith), club R&B (The Shots, The Doc Thomas Group), early psych (The Attack, The Silence) and some straightforward mod tunes, including music from Steve Marriott's Moments and The Shapes Of Things.

19 tracks, available on CD and limited edition vinyl with extensive sleevenotes/booklet. We should have a review online ahead of release, but if you want to get your order in now, both the CD and vinyl are available to pre-order now from Amazon, priced at £8.98. The release date is Monday March 30th 2009.
