An interview with Steve Barrow

Doug1

I'm not overstating things by saying that the newly-added interview with Steve Barrow is perhaps the best thing that has ever appeared on Modculture.

Doug Hadgraft caught up with Steve, asking questions on everything from his early years, the London mod scene of the 1960s, the clubs and music of the day, Steve's journey as the 60s progressed and his ongoing love of (and involvement with) reggae and ska music. Indeed, Steve (as many of you will know), was the founder of the Blood and Fire label.

The interview was far to long to fit on one page, so we have split it over two pages. It might seems a daunting prospect to read, but believe me, you'll find out more about the original mod scene reading this than you will reading any number of books on the market. Well done to Doug - and many thanks to Steve Barrow for his time and co-operation.
