The Zombies have just announced a 2009 UK tour.
Following their rapturously-received sold-out shows at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire earlier this year (marking the 40th anniversary of their seminal album Odessey & Oracle), the baroque mod-psych poppers play the following venues in April:
Glasgow ABC (April 21st)
Bristol Colston Hall (April 23rd)
Manchester Bridgewater Hall (April 24th)
London Hammersmith Apollo (April 25th)
Expect them to repeat the trick of playing Odessey & Oracle in its entirety, plus plenty of other tracks from their back catalogue, in addition to some of Colin Blunstone‘s recent solo output. Tickets for the dates go on sale tomorrow (Thursday September 25) at 9am, so head to Aloud or Ticketweb now to snap yours up.

Long-running and much-loved, the 100% Dynamite club returns to London shortly.
Ten years since the club started in Angel, and two years since the last party, 100% Dynamite starts a new Sunday monthly session in Brick Lane, east London on October 12th. The club is the work of the people behind Soul Jazz Records, the renowned record shop and label. Musically you can expect the usual high quality mix of vintage soul, funk, ska and reggae. The all-day club is situated in the Cafe 1001, a large room with numerous comfy sofas to relax on, and a plentiful supply of food. Children are welcome too.

Following the recent news of the death of organist Richard Wright, rare Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd footage appears on new collectors’ DVD A Technicolour Dream – The Story of the 60s Underground, out next month.
The budget-price DVD follows the story of the 60s underground movement, up to the 14 hour concert at London’s Alexandra Palace on April 29th 1967, and includes rare footage of the UFO Club and that year’s Notting Hill Carnival. Also on the DVD are new interviews with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and Nick Mason, Joe Boyd, Kevin Ayers, Barry Miles and Arthur Brown. The best part of the package has to be three full Pink Floyd performances with Syd Barrett from 1967; ‘Astronomy Domine’ at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, 14 May 1967, ‘Scarecrow’ from Pathe News, 8 July 1967, and ‘Arnold Layne’ from the Peter Whitehead promo, 10 March 1967.
A Technicolour Dream is released on the 13th October and available from Play for only £6.99 (including delivery) here.

The night promises a mix of 60s beat, mod, freakbeat, garage, psych, R&B & soul floorfillers, running from 11pm until 5am. And best of all, entry os absolutely free.

Well, the universities are back, so it’s no surprise to see the return of the Affordable Vintage Fashion Fair.
Except this isn’t a student-only event – anyone is welcome to browse the 40+ stalls selling vintage clothing from the 1930s to the 1980s. And if you head to the Sheffield event, there’s also a vintage clothes swap, where you can exchange the clean/wearable vintage items you’re bored of for anything else that catches your eye (as long as you grab it before anyone else).

We mentioned the Ian Fleming and James Bond exhibition at the Imperial War Museum some months back, but we didn’t mention the merchandise that came with it – including these classic James Bond movie poster reprints.
All are exact reprints of original posters, covering just about every James Bond classic, including our favourite – On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Sized at 24 x 36 inches, it features a typically wacky 60s design, complete with ‘Far Up! Far Out! Far More!’ slogan.

Ok, we’ve still got a bit of sun, but let’s be honest, we’re in the run-up to winter and winter clothing – which could include this A.P.C. Peacoat.
On the face of it, this is just like any other peacoat on the market, but there are a few added extras to make it worth the outlay. From the people behind the blog comes the Jack That Cat Was Clean night in Brussels.
Mixing an R&B soundtrack with live music, the two-part night features a set from James Hunter, coupled with tunes from Souligan and Thierry Steady Go, followed by the Jack That Cat Was Clean club night from midnight, with DJ sets from Jean-Marc Vos, Rule, Souligan and Thierry Steady Go.

Barry Murphy returns once more trawl the TV and radio guides (so you don’t have to) to find anything worth tuning into this week. All listings are for UK terrestrial TV, Freeview and national radio, with the shows running from Friday 19th September to Thursday 25th September.
Highlights of the week
BBC 4 devotes it’s usual Friday night music strand to The Roxy Music Story (BBC 4. Friday 19th, 9pm onwards) with a new documentary chronicling the band’s history, as well as a recording of a live concert from France in 1982.
A new Storyville documentary examining the legacy of the year 1968 is shown as part of BBC 4′s 1968 night (BBC 4. Monday 22nd, 9pm). Although famous for its music and student rebellion, the year was also blighted by a series of tragedies.
Elsewhere, More4 continues it’s repeat of All You Need is Love, with this weeks episode looking at the origins of rhythm and blues and soul (Friday 19th,12.35am) and Modculture regular James Corcoran answers questions on "The Mod Movement in Britain" on Mastermind (Friday 19th, 8pm – repeated Monday 22nd, 7.30pm). Good luck James!
On the radio this week John Harris investigates the life and work of the film director Lindsay Anderson in O Lucky Man! (BBC Radio 4. Tuesday 23rd, 11.30am), while BBC 6 Music repeats a 1974 series on the Who over week-nights starting Monday 22nd at 12 Midnight.

With the Specials reunion talk at fever pitch and Terry Hall out and about playing live (see some great footage here of his 100 Club gig), it seems the perfect time for Fred Perry to release the limited edition Terry Hall V-neck sweater.
A classic sweater based on a classic image – the one of Terry in the very first issue of The Face. Indeed, this late 70s-style sweater has been made to the original specification of the day, complete with deeper ‘V’, oversized laurel, original cut and from pure British lambs wool.
Just 500 are being made, with a choice of classic black or maroon on offer, sold in a collector’s limited edition box.
