Highlight of the week: The South Bank Show. Sunday 29th April. ITV 1. 11.00pm
Leading independent film director Shane Meadows talks to Melvyn Bragg on the set of the skinhead saga This Is England, a rites of passage story based on an 11-year old boy growing up in Uttoxeter in the North of England, in the early 80s and joining a gang of skinheads who all become involved in the rise of the National Front.

Corduroy reform for two shows

Former Acid Jazzers Corduroy are returning - with two shows at London's Jazz Cafe on 16th and 17th June 2007. The line up on the night, according to the Jazz Cafe, is:

Scott Addison - singer/keyboardist
Ben Addison – drums
Simon Nelson-Smith - guitarist
Richard Searle - bassist

Tickets for both nights are available now, priced at £20 adv / £25 door. The night runs from 7pm – 11pm.

Shindig! magazine returns

Shindig! - everyone's favourite music quarterly returns - and is now available on subscription.

If you subscribe at the Shindig shop,  Shindig! Volume 2 Issue 1 will be delivered to your door this October. and another three copies will follow throughout the year at a cost of £15 for UK folk, slightly more for overseas. The magazine will also be available in major UK newsagents and record stores.

The first "new" issue features Mike Fornatale's Moby Grape history, Hugh Dellar's 40th Anniversary celebration of The 14 Hour technicolour Dream, Tim Buckley, The Moody Blues, Jook, Blossom Toes and much much more.

Paul Weller DJs at Heavy Soul

Fancy a trip to Belgium? It might be worth checking it out on 16th May, with Heavy Soul at the Petrol Club in Antwerp.

A top-notch DJ line-up for the allnighter is led by Paul Weller, alongside the likes of Andy Lewis, Eddie Piller and Keb Darge. The playlist promises Club Soul, authentic Rhythm & Blues , deep funk, ska and dancefloor jazz.
